Bountiful Nutrition for Eye Health

It’s the season for bountiful nutrition for eye health.  Get to your local farmers market and load up on greens, colorful squash, and fresh eggs.  These carotenoid-rich foods contribute to healthy eyes while preventing macular degeneration and cataracts.  Here is a list of antioxidant-rich foods in-season now for eye health.

Lutein can be found in dark green leafy vegetables. Try these tasty options:

Kale
Spinach
Collards
Swiss chard
Brussel sprouts
Broccoli
Asparagus

Zeaxanthin is rich in orange and yellow vegetables. Egg yolks are also a good source. Here are a few farmer’s market options:
